The newly restored Vivary Park is a relaxing haven from the hustle of our busy town. The ornate Victorian fountain and park gates are a feature of the garden. Vivary Park is the ideal setting for the annual Taunton Flower Show 'Chelsea of the West'; it draws visitors from all over the country. The Proms in the Park and fireworks concert is held each summer. There is also the ever-popular golf course on the edge of Vivary Park.
The Brendon Hills is west of Taunton near the town of Wiveliscombe that is the gateway to the Exmoor National Park. A wonderful place to explore with narrow lanes and footpaths.
Sheppys Cider is a favourite if you enjoy the traditional Somerset Farm Cider, located near Wellington.
The Somerset Cricket Ground is Located adjacent to the River Tone in Taunton. Taunton Racecourse season starts in October and ends in April superbly located overlooking the Blackdown Hills. The popular Antiques Market open on Mondays only with 130 stall to browse. Kings College, Queens College, Taunton School and Wellington School are the independent schools in and around Taunton.
